Dear Inklings,
Welcome back to another town square gathering! Today, I want to hear all about underrated books. I think we’ve all read books we wish more people would know about. Now’s your chance to share about them.
Speaking of underrated books, take a look at these free books centered on character development. Maybe you’ll find a new favourite author among them. You might even see Yours Truly somewhere in there. ✌🏻

Last month, we shared what gives us hope in hopeless times—it’s a thread I’ve been returning to a lot during this past week. A recurring theme was our children and future generations, and also—pets. That alone gives me a lot of hope. Thank you to everyone who bolstered my spirits.
Meet you in the comments. 🩵

Goodbye Tsugumi by Banana Yoshimoto — this was such an underrated little gem which had me feeling all the things a young adult is feeling while losing the permanence of your childhood home and dealing with the highs and lows of knowing someone ill. It was beautiful, and complex, and poignant.
The Prophet by Kahlil Gibran.
